Uruguay Cartel is the first Uruguayan event dedicated to posters.
On May 4 and 5 of 2019, the first instance took place at the AFE Cultural Center and BIT Center in Colonia del Sacramento. Two days of activities focused on poster design, where more than 100 designers from Uruguay and Argentina attended the event organized by the locals Pablo Araújo, Eduardo Davit and Majo Silva.
During one weekend, an exhibition of 40 posters chosen from more than 750 posters from around the world could be seen. Also, seven talks by referents from the American continent were enjoyed. From Argentina, Coco Cerrella and Diego Bianki, from Uruguay Gabriel Amijai Benderski Perez, Fernando Díaz, Gustavo Wojciechowski and Sasha Natasha; from Cuba Diana Carmenate.
The Argentine colleague San Spiga, made a graphic mural from posters of cumbia dances to later be intervened with lettering by the different attendees of Uruguay Cartel. Workshops were held by Coco Cerrella, Fernando Díaz, Sasha Natasha and Caja Baja; all with sold out places.
